Dad and Grandad Reading Day

Calling all 5 green Dads and Grandads!!

We are having a reading day on Friday the 1st of April in the classroom.
I would love to have as many dads as possible for this special event.
I will divide all my volunteers into small groups with the boys. You have a little chat, maybe bring in a book you are currently reading or a book you have enjoyed in the past and talk about it with your group. You will then participate in a reading activity with your group.

Start time: 9.00 am
Finish Time 10.15 am

Hello from Mr Hayes

Dear Parents,

I hope you are all well. The term is raging by and we are extremely busy up until the end. There are a few points that I wish to highlight for your interest.

Excursions this week

We have two excursions this week to Government House (Tomorrow) and also to East Perth Cemetery and The State Library of WA (Wednesday).
These two exciting trips are in collaboration with our learning on The Swan River Colony and the Pioneers of WA. They will be very worthwhile and enriching learning experiences for the boys.

For the Government House Trip the boys will need to be in their summer uniform. They will change into this uniform after sports training tomorrow morning. Please ensure that your son brings all pieces of his uniform to school. Meeting the Governor in the wrong uniform won't be a good look.
We will leave school at 9 am sharp tomorrow if you are running late please email me asap so we can make arrangements.

On Wednesday, I will allow the boys to wear their Thursday blue sports uniform.

I thank many of you for your support and good will throughout the term.

I also wish to share that my wife and I are expecting our second child halfway through next term and I will be away on Paternity leave for a period next term. The exact time will be decided by the little bundle of joy, but its looks like midway through term.

Homework week 8

Here is the homework for this week.

Mental Maths next section.

Boys are to continue through the week to finish off their persuasive writing pieces. The published copy is due next Wednesday and it must be hand written.

15 mins reading each night.

I have decided not to add spelling words this week as the boys will have plenty of practice with spelling in their writing task.

All homework is due next Wednesday and I have informed them that there is no excuse for it not to be done especially if they have trips planned. For some perhaps homework needs to be completed before Friday.
