Archbishop Goody Hostel Visit!

6 Green was lucky enough to be invited to the marvelous Archbishop Goody Hostel on the 22nd of September. Our aim: Cheer up the residents! The Archbishop Goody Hostel is a home for people who unfortunately can not take care of themselves.

They were lonely and so, we decided under the jurisdiction of Mr Hayes, to change that!It was a great 'Man for Others' experience!

Boys were assigned various activities to participate in, from Table Tennis to mosaic painting. We met quirky folks such as a lady who refused to speak English. Fortunately, our very own Dante Holdsworth lightened up her day by speaking back in Italian and translating to his fellow peers.

We had a great time, but they had an even better one.

Learning Journey 2015

It was excellent to see a brilliant turnout for our Learning Journey Evening.
Many of you clearly enjoyed catching up with your son and his learning and seeing what he has been exploring this year.

It was great to see you all.

Friday reading with some cool dads!

We were very lucky on Friday morning to be joined by some of our dads for a reading morning.
In 6 Green we have become experts in reading, especially reading orally and for an audience.
Many thanks to Mr Homsany, Mr D'Amelio, Mr Egitto and Mr Holdsworth for joining us for a really fun hour.

Each dad joined a group and were initially interviewed on their thoughts on reading.

Some questions asked of them included.....

What book did you enjoy as a child?

What are you reading now?

How is reading important in your job?

Mr Homsany even educated the boys on  the history of West Perth Football Club by bringing in, "A Grand Old Flag," A biographical text of the club. Great stuff!!

Asia Expo 2015

                        6G Asian Expo

On Friday the 28th of August, 6 Green showcased their projects on Asian countries. As a result other junior school students got the marvelous opportunity to come and be a part of the expedition. For the past 4 weeks students have worked in groups of 2 to present this marvelous item.

We also had lots of people going to the groups with the food, only a few came for the facts. But we still had an brilliant day. After the expo was over we had a few amazing mums arrive with some delicious meals that included non spicy chicken curry, spicy chicken curry and spring rolls. A special thank you to Mrs Fong, Mrs Rainer and Mrs Homsany. What delicious cooking!

However the students do not take credit for the expo the star behind the curtains is Mr Andrew Hayes. Without him the expedition would have been a complete failure. With helpful websites and informative ideas the 6 Green students were absolutely awesome.
