Considering our big push on oral reading this term it was very encouraging to read this article in today's West Australian Newspaper.
I encourage you all to continue to give regular feedback to your son's oral reading with a bit of modelling thrown in, even if it is just for 5 minutes per night.

Amazing Asia
We have kicked off our theme of Asia these past two weeks with a bang! With some excellent learning and enthusiasm clearly present.
The boys have each been placed with a partner and have been drawn a random Asian country to research and celebrate.
Their task is to become experts and create an expo like stall showcasing their learning about their country.
As this is an activity encouraging inquiry I have left it as open as possible for the boys. However some common topic to research could include....Famous Landmarks, Foods, History, Transport etc.
I would also like to highlight two brilliant and age appropriate websites that will help with research.
They are A-Z World Cultures and also World Book Web.
Both sites can be accessed here via The College Library Site.
Your son will also have this bookmarked on his device.
We will be showcasing our stalls on Friday 28th of August.
Here are some images which will be of help.

Golden Heritage Club Visit!
last week were we lucky enough to host members of Trinity's Golden Heritage Club. Old boys automatically enter this prestigious group after 50 year of leaving Trinity.
Many extravagant stories were shared, bonds created, and a great time was had by all.
All the boys agree that discipline these days is a little but better than it once was.
Here are some pictures.
