Curriculum Outline Term 2

Dear Parents,

Here is a curriculum outline for Term 2. This should give you a good idea of the learning experiences for the Term.
A large proportion of the curriculum will be focused on preparing the boys for our exciting adventure to Kalgoorlie in Week 10.

RE- Confirmation preparation and what it means to be a Christian Leader.

Numeracy Focus-  Word problems, Problem solving and investigating, multi step problems.The 4 operations, units of measurement, angles, reading graphs. Mental strategies.

Literacy Focus  Stormbreaker novel study- Power sentences, sizzling starters, writing with depth and expansion. Historical writing.Grammar and Punctuation.


Humanities- ANZAC 100 Years and their legacy. The Gold Rush, Kalgoorlie, Paddy Hannan and the birth of WA. Visit to The Perth Mint.

Design and Technology
Students to create a spy gadget model busing class novel Stormbreaker as their inspiration, video software website POWTOON to be used to present gadget. (Powtoon.com)

Science 
The boys will be studying Physical Sciences by investigating electrical circuits, switches, light globes, conductors and insulators and using solar, air and water to generate electricity. 

Health
The class will also be investigating the benefits of a healthy diet in Health. 

Gadget Assignment!

Agents of 6 Green you have summoned by MI6 to create an original and exciting gadget to be used by agents in the field.

Here is the Rubric.

Gadget Assignment
Using our class novel Stormbreaker as your inspiration you are to create and design your own spy gadget. The designs and blue prints for your gadget must be created using POWTOON. The actual model of your gadget will be created in your lessons with Mr Lamborn.

Welcome back to Term 2!

Welcome back!

I am please to announce that everyone has returned energized and in a hard working frame of mind.Here's to another great Term.
